What does it Cost?
The cost of an Oral appliance is comparable to CPAP. You are responsible to pay for the treatment, although treatment my be covered by private medical insurance.
Does Insurance Cover the Cost?
Oral Appliances are not covered by OHIP, although it may be covered by private medical insurance. Contact your Private insurer to find out if you meed the eligibility requirements.
Will the appliance hurt my jaw or teeth?
Modern sleep appliances are custom‑fit and adjusted slowly, so most patients adapt comfortably over a few weeks.
What about Tooth Movement or Bite Changes?
While movement can happen, changes are usually minor and manageable with regular dental monitoring. This is why Oral appliances should be made and monitored by Dentists trained in sleep medicine.
How will I sleep with something in my mouth?

Dr. Richardson has supported community and charitable organizations by serving as President of his community association for 24 years, president of the Toronto Academy of Dentistry, as well as guiding the promotion of a major Toronto Dental convention.
Dr Richardson has recently completed another course in Sleep Medicine with the AADSM and attained a “Qualified Dentist” designation to upgrade his skills in treating Sleep Apnea and Snoring patients.
With a warm and quirky sense of humour, Dr Richardson has endeavored to create a relaxed and friendly environment focusing on quality and comprehensive treatment.

With dentists in the past, I didn't get a full understanding of the issues as well as a look at detailed X-Rays and charts. The other staff were also super nice! I'm actually looking forward to going back.
